Professors Gottfried Locker & Christoph Zielinski would like to make a statement regarding George Michael.

Further to our previous statement Mr. Michael is being treated here for pneumonia and nothing else.

The latest development in Mr. Michael's case - which has evolved from a severe pneumococcal infection - necessitated intensive care due to its severity and extension. We are happy to announce that Mr. Michael is improving steadily with an impressive regression of pneumonic symptoms and follows a steady rate of improvement as hoped.

There are no other health issues with regards to the patient other than the underlying pneumonic disorder, and no further measures had to be taken.

It’s with great sadness that GeorgeMichael.com must announce the postponement of the remaining dates on the Symphonica tour due to George’s on-going battle with pneumonia.

While George is receiving excellent medical care and is responding to treatment and slowly improving, to ensure his complete well-being, George’s doctors have advised that he cannot perform the rest of his Symphonica tour and that he instead takes a full and complete rest.

Discussions and preparations are currently under way in order to arrange the rescheduled dates and further announcements will be made at the earliest opportunity. In the meantime, tickets holders are asked to retain their tickets.

Following the cancellation of his Wednesday, October 26, Symphonica performance at Royal Albert Hall due to illness, George Michael has now confirmed the rescheduled date: Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

All ticket holders are asked to please retain their tickets, as they will be valid for the rescheduled date. Those unable to attend should contact their original point of purchase for details on how to obtain a refund, before December 15, 2011.

With great regret, George Michael has been forced to postpone his November 21 concert at the Stadthalle, Vienna.

The promoters have asked ticket holders for tonight's concert to retain their tickets.  Further announcements regarding a replacement date will follow.

The wonderful Symphonica crew have put together a team to grow moustaches in aid of men's cancer as a part of the annual, worldwide Movember campaign and we would like to invite YOU support their efforts by making a donation and helping them change the face of men's health!

A Doctor visited George this afternoon and confirmed he is suffering from a viral infection and has a high temperature, and on medical advice he has been advised that he cannot perform tonight to allow him time to recover before his next concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday, October 28.

Symphonica will see George Michael hit over 15 countries across Europe from August through December 2011. Some of the amazing venues already lined up include the O2 Arena in Berlin, Piazza Santa Croce in Florence, Palau San Jordi in Barcelona, London's legendary Royal Albert Hall, and many, many more! He will perform not only a carefully chosen selection of his songs, spanning all his remarkable, near 30-year career, but he will cover some of his favourite songs from other artists. The music will be re-worked and re-arranged for the orchestra which will accompany George at each location. This new classical setting will give each song added layers and new nuances.
